Hexagonal bolts, also known as hexagonal head bolts, are fasteners composed of a head and a threaded rod. The design of this bolt allows it to be turned with a wrench for tightening or dismantling operations.
The materials of hexagonal bolts mainly include iron and stainless steel. Iron bolts are classified by grade, with common grades being 4.8, 8.8, and 12.9. Stainless steel bolts are mainly made of materials such as SUS201, SUS304, and SUS316.
The head design of the hexagonal bolt is hexagonal, which is for the convenience of using a wrench or other tools for rotation operations. At the same time, the threaded rod part of the bolt (also known as the external threaded bolt) is equipped with a nut for fastening two parts with through holes. This connection method is called bolt connection, which is a detachable connection method. If the nut and bolt rotate, the two parts can be separated.
In terms of production technology, hexagonal bolts can be tinned to improve their corrosion resistance and aesthetics. The tin plating process can be divided into two categories: acidic plating solution process and alkaline tin plating process. Among them, the advantages of acidic tin plating are fast plating speed, bright and fine coating, and good deep plating ability, while the advantages of alkaline tin plating are good brazing performance.
